The colors and tones of late summer and early autumn are captured in this major watercolor by artist Richard Bollinger. Partially concealed by lush foliage, the painting reveals what appears to be a scene right out of the old world. It is actually a small part of a marvelous country estate nestled in the heart of the beautiful Brandywine Valley. Built in the early 1900’s, this picturesque nine hundred and forty-four acre property with its wonderful naturalistic gardens is located along Route 52, just north of Wilmington, Delaware. More ...
